There are many types of therapeutic head spa treatments throughout the world.  You may find many different styles of this service in other countries such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, India, China and Turkey.  Our Japanese based session's main goal is for relaxation and scalp health with medium pressure, rhythmic style massage techniques.

 

The benefits of the Japanese Head Spa include the stimulation of blood circulation to the scalp, nourishment to the hair follicles, removal of impurities and buildup, reduction of dandruff and scalp irritation, balance of pH levels, enhancement of hair growth, general stress relief, reduction of headaches, improvement of hair texture and shine, and the release of positive "feel good" hormones.

Escapes Spa utilizes professional grade Paul Mitchell tea tree and lavender scalp wellness products during our Head Spa services.  Please be aware beforehand should you have any allergies or aversions to these specific essential oils and/or products.  Head Spa treatments may be received every 4-6 weeks to help maintain a healthy scalp and promote hair growth.  

To ensure you receive the full benefits and relaxation of you Halo Spa experience, we kindly ask that clients arrive with hair that has been washed within the previous 24-48 hours and is free of excessive product buildup, heavy oils, or significant tangling.  Arriving with clean, detangled hair allows us to provide the highest quality experience while protecting both your hair and our equipment.  

 

60 Minute Head Spa Treatment

Our one-hour head spa is a holistic, scalp focused wellness treatment that combines aromatherapy, deep cleansing, and therapeutic massage.  This treatment is designed to relieve stress while promoting scalp and hair health.  Your time with us begins with gentle sound and aromatherapy in a private room designed to bring you the utmost comfort.  Your head spa provider will focus on deep cleansing and exfoliation with professional grade cleansers, hair mask, scalp oils and scrubs.  The highlight of a Japanese Head Spa is always the "halo" or waterfall water therapy to rinse away the treatment products while stimulating the scalp.

90 Minute Head Spa Treatment

All the steps and treatments in our 60 minute head spa session with the addition of extended scalp massage time, a cleansing facial, full head and scalp steam treatment, as well as a hand & arm massage.

Steam Head Spa Treatment

We begin your session with rhythmic hair brushing to exfoliate the scalp and distribute natural oils followed by a scalp massage to increase blood circulation.  Acupressure and tension relief massage target the scalp, forehead, temples and neck to relieve stiffness & stress.  Conditioners and oils are then applied to the scalp & hair followed by a full steam treatment in the head spa steam dome.  Clients will finish with the products on the head to rinse at their own convenience to allow for further hydration absorption.

Dry Hair Play

This waterless hair play session is a multi-sensory session designed to trigger an ASMR response and melt away stress.  Relax in this shorter but deeply calming session as your provider brushes, lightly scratches, and massages the scalp.  Hair and scalp tools will also be integrated during your treatment to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, improve blood circulation, relieve tension headaches, and induce a meditative state of calm.

After your head spa treatment - Choose your finish

To help you customize your experience, please select one of the following options to use after your head spa service:

1.  Self Blow Dry - Use our styling station to blow dry and style your hair at your own pace.

2.  Rough Dry by your service provider - Your head spa provider will perform a basic blow dry to remove excess moisture.  This is not a styled blowout and may leave head slightly damp depending on hair length and thickness.

3.  Professional Blowout with a Licensed Stylist - For a polished, finished look, please pre-book a blowout with one of our licensed stylists.  This service includes professional drying and styling and must be scheduled in advance depending on availability of the stylist.  Applicable fees will be added for this separate styling service.
